The HR Advisor is an essential support person to the Senior HR
Business Partner in the day to day operation of the HR function within
Pieta.
The post holder will act as a first point of contact for line managers
in the implementation of the organisation?s employee relations
processes including employee engagement, discipline, grievance,
dignity and respect matters.
A key feature of the role is to review, research, develop and
communicate best practice HR policies and procedures in the areas of
employee wellbeing, compensation and benefits.
At times, the role may include the provision of administrative cover
in the absence of the HR Administrator.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Support the absence management process by providing advice to the
management team on day to day aspects of the absence procedures,
ensuring that absence is processed correctly from a HR and payroll
perspective
* Manage the occupational health process including compiling and
submitting referrals to the occupational health provider,
communicating with employees throughout and upon conclusion of the
process, liaising closely with line managers
* Support proactive absence management by monitoring and reporting
of absence data, commenting on any trends
* Support the management team by providing advice relating to
matters concerning discipline and grievance in the early stages of the
process, actively participating in associated meetings and/or hearings
* Complete monthly reporting in relation to employee relations
activity for circulation to the management team, commenting on and
working with the Senior HRBP to address any trends in this respect
* Monitoring and oversight of probationary periods to ensure
probationary reviews take place in a timely manner and are documented
appropriately, providing support and guidance to line managers
* Process all leavers from the organisation, advising managers on
the leaver process and ensuring that leaver documentation is processed
correctly from a HR and payroll perspective
* Arrange, conduct and monitor the uptake of employee exit
interviews
* Compile and present reports on labour turnover to the management
team, to include key findings from exit interview data, commenting on
and working with the Senior HRBP to address any trends in this respect
* Review, research, develop and update HR policies and procedures,
communicating these to staff in conjunction with the Senior HRBP
* Provide information and training to the management team in the
execution and management of these procedures
* Support the Senior HRBP in the establishment and operation of a
staff consultation group
* Support monthly payroll processing including checks on starters,
leavers, absence and leave including verification of contract
amendments
* Research, source and coordinate appropriate staff training in line
with the training plan, reporting on training attended and compliance
rates of mandatory training
* Support pension membership by providing timely information in
relation to eligibility to participate in the organisation?s pension
scheme and supporting the joining process
* Research, review and update employee benefits, communicating
regularly with staff as to the benefits available
* Manage the relationship with the organisation?s EAP provider,
providing regular updates to staff from this source, encouraging use
of the resources within
* Research and update policies and procedures in support of employee
wellbeing including flexible working arrangements, right to
disconnect, family friendly policies etc.
* Work with the HR Director and Senior HRBP to establish best
practice employee wellbeing initiatives for the staff of Pieta,
including the development and maintenance of a wellbeing calendar
* Provide induction training for new starters to the organisation
* Support the interview process as needed
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
* CIPD accredited qualification in HR is essential
* Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline
* Experience advising in line with legislation and best practice
relating to HR policies and procedures. Knowledge and experience in
the area of employee wellbeing is advantageous
* Strong literacy and numeracy aptitude - demonstrates attention to
detail and shows concern for accuracy and quality of work produced
* Effective verbal and written communicator, with an ability to
communicate across all levels
* Excellent IT skills in particular Microsoft Office. Experience of
working with Salesforce is advantageous
* Hardworking, flexible and adaptable in approach
